Product/Service Database Enabling

All products & services offered by Travel Khazana were integrated into an exhaustive database and the results were engineered in a highly sensitive format to yield the most accurate search results.

Travel Khazana being wholesaler of travel related products, deals with various property owners, car rental agencies, tour operator, cruises and more and therefore receives data in various formats. A system was first devised to standardize the data format and the data was then pushed into a centralized database. Microsoft SQL Server 7.0 was used as the back-end database to store this important information. In cases where product data included pictures, ASP Smart Upload (a file upload component) was used in order to allow Travel Khazana administration to easily and conveniently upload pictures using an online web based system. As a result, today all Travel Khazana data is published and maintained in a standard version, helping customers and Travel Khazana staff to retrieve product/service information, tariff, validity period, terms and conditions, etc. with ease.

The database was seamlessly blended with a web-based interface with extensive use of Microsoft Active Server Pages as the programming technology with use of VB Script and JavaScript as the scripting tool.

The order interface designed is complemented with an administrator's interface accessible to Travel Khazana staff. The authorized administrator can use this interface using browser and update product information, tariff, validity period and more. The business application solution thus, is implemented seamlessly into the Travel Khazana system and is integrated in a tight point-to-point fashion as compared to typical web integration services where integration is loosely stitched and changes in an application do not result in a global change all over multiple systems. This provides Travel Khazana with a simple and sound maintenance interface that reduces overall cost and effort.
