A website interface that clearly highlights the following:
  • 6 lines of business (through flash animation on home page)
  • Recall of the lines of business (through an introduction pages provided for each line of business)
  • The Bank’s global presence (through links provided at the top of all pages at the same place)
  • Easy navigation (through Quick Links drop down menu and search engine box available on all pages at the same place). Also the user is provided with breadcrumb links - a structural trail of links - to understand in which part of the website is he/she surfing e.g. home loans page carries a trail as – Personal > Retail Loans > Home Loans)
  • Educating the users (Each product clearly indicates the user about the next step to be taken providing the user with links such as download a form, locate a branch, contact us, etc.)
  • Accessible organization information (through links at the bottom available on all pages)
  • A direct gateway to products (through ‘How we can help you’ panel below 6 lines of businesses. The products are dynamically changed based on the importance of the product at a given point in time).
  • Banner Ads (relevant banner ads are provided on every page of the website).
  • Links to Tools (like branch locator, calculators, forms, etc. available on all pages and not just the product pages).
Content Development:
  • The entire website content has been developed with a certain level of standardization. All product information is divided into four basic element viz., the offering, the key benefits, more benefits and terms & conditions. A content standard has been laid out and principles set to retain the familiarity and consistency between different pages.
  • Each product page is provided with a link called ‘Printer-Friendly Version’ which helps a user print only the product information thereby saving time and cost of printing.
  • Each product allows the user to be to able download a form required to avail of the offering.
  • Each page ranging from tools to the main page of Deposit products start with an introductory text matter that educates the user about the section/tool.
  • About Us section is completely re-structured and designed for better readability. The section is broken down into several sub links for users to be able to easily browse through the desired data without having to search.
  • Contact Us is designed with an objective to clearly indicate the global spread of the bank through a world map provided with links to countries where the Bank has presence
Efficient and intelligent value-added tools for users:
  • Branch Locator
    An intelligent branch locator tool is developed with the key objective to allow the users to zero in on the exact desired branch information. The locator allows the user to key in a keyword, select branch speciality, select a city and search. Any of the above 3 criteria can be provided by the user to get the correct information.
  • Search Engine
    The search engine allows users to key in any keyword and look for relevant information. The engine is database driven. The database has been created and maintained in the most sophisticated manner in order to procure accurate and intelligent results (e.g. when a user searches for ‘Wedding’ as the keyword, ‘Marriage Loan’ page is displayed even though there is no mention of the word Wedding in the page.
  • Calculators
    Different Calculators have been created for different deposit and loan products. The EMI calculator allows a user to decide the principal amount, tenure and also the rate of interest and then calculate. This makes the tool a value-added feature for users to compare different loan options they may have. The rate of interest that calculates the deposit schemes are pulled out of a central database which ensure accuracy of results at all time.
  • Email a Friend
    Each product page provides a feature to be able to email the page to a friend. This helps increase participation and awareness of products and services through word of mouth.
Sound content management tools for administrator:
  • Inquiry Management
    Users are provided with a general inquiry and a product specific inquiry. In case of general inquiry the email goes to the administrator while in case of product specific inquiries, the inquiry email is forwarded to the concerned department with a CC to administrator. This reduces the burden on administrator to gather responses to each inquiry. Through the new system the concerned department can respond to such inquiries directly. The responses are stored in the administration interface accessible by the administrator for record purposes. User inquiries can further be handled better due to the status indication (e.g. unanswered and answered inquiries are clearly indicated).
  • Interest Rates
    While the interest rate data is being pulled out of a central database to ensure accuracy of information, significant modification have also been made in order to present the interest rate page in a more user-friendly fashion. The new page has been divided into 2 parts viz., rates for deposit and rates for advances. Further notes and information are provided as a link to enable users to concentrate more on the figures.
